The journey begins with a consultation, either via email or over the phone. This is our opportunity to clarify the vision, preferences, and any specific themes you have in mind.

• Discuss Preferences: Style preferences, favorite colors, and any specific ideas you have. Some clients don’t mind showing more skin than others. We’ll nail these details down.
• Wardrobe Planning: Selecting gowns and silks that complements your vision. Keeping in mind the space your images will be displayed in.

• Elegant Wardrobe Options: I have a large selection of high-end maternity gowns, dresses, and silks in my Client Closet. I partner with designers who specialize in maternity wear that offer exclusive options. The only thing you will be responsible for bringing is the undergarments, which must be “nude,” meaning matching your skin color.
• Professional Hair and Makeup: Professional hair and makeup is encouraged. Let me know if you need recommendations for MUA artists to ensure you look and feel your best for your session.
• Unique Props and Accessories: Sometimes we can incorporate luxurious props such as floral arrangements, sheer fabrics, and antique furniture to enhance the elegance of your shoot.

3. Transitioning to Newborn Sessions: Continuity and Comfort

The transition from maternity to newborn photography should be seamless, maintaining a luxury feel while ensuring the newborn’s comfort.

• Scheduling: Ideally, we will tentatively schedule your newborn session within the first two weeks of your due date, when babies are most cooperative for posed photography. I’ve had a lot of success with babies at day 12.
• Comfortable Environment: I create a warm, safe, and comfortable environment. Soft lighting, cozy wraps, and a gentle shusher will help soothe the baby.
• Elegant Props and Outfits: Just as with maternity sessions, I use high-quality props. Beautiful wraps and backdrops, handcrafted headbands to add a touch of luxury.
• Safety First: Always prioritize the baby’s safety. Ensure all props are sanitized, and poses are safe and comfortable.

Maintaining a consistent style between maternity and newborn sessions is crucial for a cohesive look in the final album or wall art.
